Terje Vigen, a dramatised reading of Ibsen’s poem. Odd Grundt performs the poem accompanied by pianist Nikolai Karlsen-Arktander, whose Nordic music from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries captures the spirit of the age in which the poem was written. The music heightens the drama of the poem, and Odd Grundt’s personal, intense and heartfelt performance makes for a unique experience of a work that most people are familiar with, but perhaps not everyone has fully grasped the gravity and significance of.
